Week MIDTERM BREAK |
||
Con Air
Hello Gamesoc, I hope this email finds you well. I've been around college recently and have noticed a serious lack of people, seems some people are on break or some such. Personally I've been locked in the engineering building all week and am only now breaking out to see that it's actually sunny outside. WOW... Anyway, the reason for this email is to tell you of the gaming event happening in Dublin this weekend, and also to answer a couple of questions that have arisen recently. LepreconBy now you're probably all dressing up in green, decorating the house in shamrocks, harps and potatoes, and stocking up on all the treats that make Paddy's day the day it is: Guinness and whisky. As a lead up to this merry festival, Ireland's oldest gaming convention (Leprecon) would like to invite all of you to a weekend of fun, thrills and spills right in the heart of Dublin. 17.4 seconds walk around the corner from Pearse Dart station, Goldsmith hall plays host to a weekend of card, board, role playing and any other kind of game they can squeeze into the weekend. The weekend also sees a lot of our talented members take part in the Irish L5R Kotei this Saturday. So please come and cheer on our warriors as they battle for the country's glory and honour. When: Friday 12th - Sunday 14th March VaticonVaticon is our home games convention. We take the UCD student centre and turn it into our Gaming playground for 3 whole days. Friday-Sunday 26-28th March. Here's a word from Peter Tisdall, con-director on the matter: This year, Vaticon 16 is going to be a fantastic con, filled with fun, craziness and possibly even some games. Once again Vaticon is able to say it is the most affordable con of the year. With free games, cheap entry and access to a cheap student bar, Vaticon is light on the wallet but heavy on the fun. TimeVaticon 16 is all about time. This years theme is time, if you hadn't already guessed. This means, tie-dye t-shirts, time themed games and some very big surprises. This year Vaticon is boasting 3 days of gaming and fun. So whether you like RPGs, LARPs, Rubber Sword, Video Games, Board Games, Pub Quizzes, Assassins, or just hanging out with some cool people, come along, I promise it will be fun. Many of you know who I am, and those who don't are either better off, or will soon know me too well. So when I promise you an awesome Vaticon 16, you know I am not joking around. This Vaticon is going to be BIG! Its going to be nuts, bonkers, crazy, fantastic and many other cool adjectives. You would be a fool to miss a second of it. Peter Tisdall
Enjoy the rest of your break Gamesoc, I hope to see many of you over the weekend, or in two weeks time.
