Hello Gamesoc,

With the AGM drawing ever closer there's really only one question on everyone's mind. When the hell are they going to release StarCraft 2? Seriously, it's a joke at this point (Bert note: When it's ready. Isn't that what Blizz always says ?). Anyway...Here are some distractions a little closer to home.

Paintball

Gamesoc paintball is scheduled for this Saturday 10th April. We've had very little interest in this event (2 or 3 people does not a good shootout make). Signups will continue until Friday. If by then we have not recieved much more interest we will send around an email cancelling the event. I'd strongly urge anyone interested to get onto me ASAP as I know the interest is out there for this. More details will be made available on our website by wednesday.

Dice

Yes, we're getting Gamesoc dice. These will be on sale as soon as we have made the order. We estimate them to be €5 per set. More details will be made available when we have them.

LAN

That's right, Netsoc's hosted on-campus LANs returns. This friday sees the next of these such events. The CSI building will be transformed into our gaming colloseum as we take on each other in games such as TF2, Halo and if anyone thinks they can beat me, Starcraft.

Timespiral Anaconda

For the Magic: the Gathering fans who haven't seen there is a special event planned for next thursday. We have ordered a tournament box of an excellent set that has unfortunately cycled out of standard. We will be drafting this set anaconda style. There are two spots left in this draft. Signups on our forum.

The annual trip to the zoo

Buffallo Buffallo....It's a game. It's at the zoo. 'Nuff said. 17th April.

The AGM

As the instruments play their final chords, the fat lady goes a delightful shade of red, the eardrums of the audience burst with exilleration and the conductor sheds a single tear. So too does this gamesoc year come to a close.

To usher out the year, we celebrate, Gamesoc style. A glimpse of the years' highlights, pizza, beer, games, voting and of course the awarding of our GAMER OF THE YEAR award (we actually have a trophy this year we swear) !
